The Founder Todd Meleney wanted While On Earth to be a performance wellness brand, focused on not just on physical health but mental well being.
With only a logo and a name finalized going into designs, how do I create a clothing brand from scratch? One that will excite and inspire in this space?
I am the only apparel designer on this project, having full reign in the story telling. So I created a concept around their font and logo, which at that point was the only thing solidified for the brand. I thought the curves of the W worked in nicely with the flow and ease of the brands message, and should translate into design lines where necessary. I wanted to truly focus on sourcing soft materials that performed, and didn’t show sweat. We wanted to create a workout set, but also a set that can be worn for yoga and to work at a coffee shop.
Circular knits for her
We wanted to create a set that was versatile enough to workout in, and then comfortable enough to stay in all day.
The circular warp knit did just that. Hugs enough at the waistband with added power mesh for support, but soft enough to wear all day.
Making sure this product fit the athletes for the brand, and also the consumer was a huge task, still is! But their feedback on product is invaluable and creates better apparel with every fit session.
